In the City Council and now as an attorney, I have had the opportunity to help buildings negotiate stipulations that would protect them when neighboring bars, night clubs, lounges, and members clubs, were coming before the Community for approval on a liquor license application from the State Liquor Authority (SLA). We've been able to secure stipulations for programmatic and physical noise mitigation, restrictions on hours, protections from light pollution, and privacy so that businesses can thrive without negatively impacting their neighbors.
