As Council Member, Ben Kallos was recognized for supporting Landmarks and historic preservation. This was in part because, Ben was successful in his fight against legislation that would have weakened the city's landmarks law. Since then Ben has been at numerous Landmarks Preservation Commission hearings in support of designations, voted in favor of designations as a member of the Landmarks subcommittee in the Council, and continued to be a champion for the landmarks and preservation community.
